Social Media Manager
As Communications Lead, I recognized the need to “rebrand” the content we were creating to better align with Iowa State University's brand guidelines. This move resulted in increased engagement and reach across platforms. Beyond this, I initiated the launch of the Science Bound LinkedIn page, achieving an average of nearly 500 impressions per post since May 2023.
My proactive approach to communication and mentorship significantly contributed to the success and growth of the Science Bound program, solidifying its digital presence and impact.
Recognizing the crucial need for clear and consistent communication within the Science Bound program, I assumed the role of Science Bound Communications Lead. In this position, I manage day-to-day communication operations, develop leadership and mentorship through supervising undergraduate students, and expand our program's reach.
As part of my commitment to mentorship, I successfully recruited and supervised two undergraduate students, overseeing their engagement and alignment with our mission. Handling the entire hiring process, from job requisition to onboarding, I ensured smooth project execution through weekly meetings and follow-ups.
BEFORE… Random color schemes, different fonts, not accessible, not cohesive, does not follow university branding guidelines.
AFTER… Thoughtful color coordination, similar fonts, accessible fonts and contrast, feed looks aesthetically pleasing and cohesive, follows university branding guidelines.
